KPV in Laboratory Research
KPV consists of just three residues — lysine, proline, valine — clipped from the C-terminus of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (alpha-MSH). Despite its small size it retains much of the parent molecule’s activity in inflammatory-pathway assays.
Its very small molecular size also makes it a useful test case for delivery and permeability studies that larger peptides cannot support, and a convenient probe under controlled laboratory conditions.
Research Applications & Study Focus
Investigators study KPV in relation to NF-kappaB signalling, pro-inflammatory cytokine release, and mast-cell activation. It is a frequent component of inflammatory-signalling model systems and of comparative work against its parent alpha-MSH sequence.
Consistent lot specification lets research groups reproduce inflammatory-assay conditions from one experiment to the next.

Each batch is supplied as a sealed, lyophilized vial and is independently analysed by a third-party laboratory using HPLC and mass spectrometry; the full certificate of analysis is published against its lot number, so results can be verified before use. Store the lyophilized material cool, dry and out of direct light, and reconstitute with bacteriostatic water under standard aseptic laboratory practice.
